Ghana Society UK and The Taste Of Afrika Sign MoU

Ghana Society UK and The Taste Of Afrika, organisers of Cultural Oneness Festival, have signed a strategic partnership agreement or better still memorandum of understanding (MoU) basically to enhance and promote Ghana’s culture to the rest of the world.

The meeting was held at the office of the National Commission on Culture, Accra on Tuesday, June 24, 2024. The agreement signed is to pursue development and to promote collaborations among Diaspora and Ghanaian cultural diversity.

In an engagement with the press after the MoU signing, the acting executive director for National Commission on Culture, Nana Otuo Acheampong who also served as the host and witness for both institutions’ signage said that the MoU between Ghana Society UK and The Taste Of Afrika will enable opportunities for Ghanaian populace to explore their talents across the globe.

According to the CEO of  The Taste Of Afrika, Mr. Tengol K Kplemani, “the MoU agenda is to identify with Ghana Society UK in order to export the Ghanaian indigenous culture to the rest of the world at large. Mr. Tengol added that this year’s Cultural Oneness Festival slated for November 13th to 16th in Northern Ghana will be a mind-blowing event.”

Also, speaking at the MoU signing event, the vice-chairman for international relations for Ghana Society UK, Mr. Aaron Kusi stated that working together with The Taste Of Afrika will give both organizations the opportunity to expand their scope beyond borders.

Provisions of the MoU

Under the provisions of the MoU, Ghana Society UK and The Taste Of Afrika, have agreed to team up to support and promote the Baako Festival in Luton, United Kingdom and Cultural Oneness Festival in Ghana specifically the Northern sector where over 5,000 visitors or participants from Diaspora, Africa and Ghana are expected.

Both parties seek to form a strategic partnership that leverages on both the strengthen and resources of both organizations to promote the development of culture within continental Africa, the UK and beyond. This collaboration is hinged on our shared vision of promoting cultural advancement and diversity and enhancing economic development through cultural exchange and social cohesion.

The Cultural Oneness Festival will be the first major event in the Northern Sector to preach and promote peace as Ghana makes the necessary arrangements for the upcoming general elections.
